Operation

Vinyl Side Panel Operation

All four sides of the S3 biosafety system can be opened to access the S3 or S3e cell sorter

completely for cleaning, service, or maintenance. The panels are attached to the aluminum

frame using magnets. The four panels can be opened easily using one hand. The panels can

be rolled up to rest on the top of the system (Figure 12). To ensure that the front is secure there

is an additional magnet in the HEPA air generator to hold the panel securely when it is opened.

Lifting the front panel also provides access to the nozzle and ﬁlter doors. Be careful not to

cover the ﬁltered air evacuation hole on top.

IMPORTANT! Airﬂow is not maintained if any of the full panels are opened and

rolled up.
